Sai Atman

Sai Atman (Victor Bulik) has been described as a ˇ§mystery man of artˇ¨ and indeed each of his evocative, surreal and technically exquisite paintings can be seen as an invitation to infinite mysteries, a doorway to worlds beyond the physical plane. Since his arrival in Canada in 1969, the Polish born artist has developed through his paintings a symbolic language that is a visual counterpart to his poetry and philosophical writings. In his work, mountain ranges and rock formation flow into seemingly manmade architectural elements, huge windows, gateways, staircases and vast checkerboard patterned floors are juxtaposed in ways that seem at once natural, but counter to conventional logic. Balancing the immediate up close elements of the compositions, there is an ever present and uplifting sense of the limitless vistas beyond his gates and archways.

Sai has explored and progressed in a variety of artistic styles. By the early 1980ˇ¦s this artist had numerous exhibitions and credits to his name with works in many collections including: the late Pierre Elliot Trudeau, Anne Murray, Former Presidents, Jimmy Carter and Ronald Regan and Westinghouse Electric, New York.
