The talents of Diana Zoe Coop are multi-faceted. Working in a diverse variety of media, including watercolor, acrylic, inks and rice papers, she has interpreted the garden in a fresh, energetic, impressionistic manner. Her use of color is bold, and intuitive, and the finished works are reminiscent of early 20th century painters such as Roualt, Chagall, and Monet. Her current works reflect an interest in Japanese Gardens, and their water features, and as such, place an emphasis on the seasons of t he garden, and the diverse plant and fish life that make this garden an art form in itself. Diana received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (Gold Medalist) from the University of Manitoba, 1972, and her post graduate certificate in Printmaking from Saint Martin’s School of Art, London, England, 1973. She was selected as a master’s candidate at Syracuse University, upstate New York, and was awarded the MFA degree in 1976. Her works hang in private and corporate collections in Canada, U.S.A., Great Britain, Holland, Italy and Austria. She has been honored as a biographee in the Canadian publication “Who’s Who?for her contribution to the visual arts in Canada. Ms. Coop designed the 1994 Vancouver Summer Street Banners, which hung from all the bridges and thoroughfares throughout Vancouver. |
