Diana May Nobbs

Born in Norfolk England in 1950, Diana has traveled widely, as a result her paintings and sculptures have an international flavor. She participated in the making of a documentary film on the classic Mayan cities and has traveled extensively in the region of the Tikal and Peten Jungle for a year. All paintings by Diana are a result of direct personal experience. Her subjects are mainly landscapes, with the emphasis on ancient ruins and animals. Some of her most impressive images however, have a ˇ§surrealistsˇ¨ quality.

She has exhibited in England, U.S.A., Belize and Canada. Many of the realistic and detailed oil paintings of the Mayan ruins are in private collections in the United States.
One piece, ˇ§Sunrise over Tikalˇ¨ was purchased by the Royal Ontario Museum in 1988 for permanent display with the Mayan archaeological exhibit. H.R.H. Princess Anne has one of Diana's paintings of a Belize jaguar. It was presented to the Princess by Belize Zoo while she was on a Royal tour in 1989.
