Alan Wylie was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1938. In the 1960 he graduated from the Glasgow School of Art with a degree in Mural Design and Mosaics. He immigrated to Nova Scotia in 1967 and began a career as a full-time artist and teacher. In 1974 he moved to British Columbia and now lives in the historic village of Fort Langley with his artist wife, Janice Robertson. Alan has held solo and group exhibitions in Scotland, Canada, U.S.A., England and Australia. He has completed 24 murals to date in Scotland, Glasgow, Canada, and the U.S.A., some of these murals are in excess of 120 feet in length. Alan is continually being recognized for the calibre of his work and has to date won 32 international and local awards. His works are in private and corporate collections around the world, The Lt. Governor of Nova Scotia, The Lt. Governor of British Columbia, Chevron Canada and Prudential Assurance Co to name but a few. |
